In 1990 Bryan Geyer invested his savings and retirement funds into the creation of Really Right Stuff, the solution to ill-fitting generic quick-release plates. For the next twelve years, he dedicated himself to creating better generic and custom Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release plates. In 2002, longtime customer and photography enthusiast Joseph Johnson Sr. bought Really Right Stuff from Bryan Geyer and moved his family from Shanghai to the Central Coast of California to run the company out of their garage.
