OMNIconnect received its official title in 1997 as a Licensed Telecommunications Carrier and Internet Service Provider based in Melbourne, Australia.OMNI started out as a means to provide faster Internet services to businesses that were using ISDN or other means by offering wireless microwave transmission as an alternative. This grew into creating an expansive wireless, fibre and DSL network throughout Australia. It also led to the development of several Data Centres around Melbourne.
