Founded in 1949, Young Poong, Corp. was Korea s main exporter of zinc concentrate in the 1960s. In order to break Korea s heavy reliance on imported zinc ingots, Young Poong, Corp. established a zinc refinery in Sukpo, Bongwhagun, Gyungsangbukdo in 1970, emerging as a leading manufacturer of non-ferrous metals.
