Great Lakes Brush started business in Chicago in 1850 under the name of Gerhard L. Berger and is one of the oldest continuous operating manufacturing companies in the city of Chicago. After Mr. Berger sold the company the name was changed to Great Lakes Brush utilizing the initials of Mr. Berger, GLB.
