Louis Campbell Sr. founded Campbell Fittings, originally called The Campbell Nipple Works, in the early 1900's. It was a small pipe nipple manufacturer serving industrial markets primarily in the Mid-Atlantic States. The Philadelphia Naval Shipyard was a major customer and was virtually the only customer during both World Wars I and II.
